Baitadi's Dasarathchand Municipality Implements Local Labor Permit Approval for Foreign Employment

Baitadi: Dasarathchand Municipality in Baitadi has commenced the issuance of labor permits to citizens seeking foreign employment. The municipality is now authorized to grant labor approvals, a responsibility previously held solely by the Ministry of Labour.

As of the 1st of Baisakh last year, the government resolved to issue labor permits through the employment branch of local levels. In line with this decision, Dasarathchand Municipality granted a work permit to Komalram Mahar of Dasarathchand Municipality-6, who is scheduled to depart for Qatar on Saturday, according to Rajendra Bishta, the municipality's information officer.

The work permit was presented to Mahar by Mayor Puskarraj Joshi. Mahar expressed his satisfaction with the municipality's efficient and low-cost provision of the work permit, stating that the process was hassle-free. Mayor Joshi emphasized the significance of issuing labor approvals at the local level, noting that it was critical to making foreign employment more regulated and limited.

Overall, the decision to grant labor permits at the local level provides citizens of Baitadi greater convenience and accessibility, while also paving the way for better working conditions and opportunities abroad.
