Dasharathchand, Baitadi Faces Severe Drinking Water Shortage in Musachor and Gurukhola
Baitadi: Dasharathchand, Baitadi is facing a severe drinking water shortage, particularly in the Musachor area of Dasharathchand Municipality-1. The Gurukhola market also suffers from a similar issue. According to local businessman Man Bahadur Ter, this problem occurs every year during the dry season.
The primary source of drinking water for Musachor and Gurukhola is the spring in the Srikhand River. However, the long distance and deteriorated water supply line cause a significant water shortage during the dry season. As both the market and the village rely on this stream for water, the management of drinking water becomes problematic.
Local resident Bhimraj Bhatta explained that people often have to wait for their turn to fill water, highlighting the severity of the situation. To address the issue, the Water Supply and Sanitation Division Office is working on the Padeligaon-Musachor-Gurukhola lifting water supply scheme, but it is expected to take some time to complete.
Ward President of Dasharatchand Municipality Ward No. 1, Vishnudatta Bhatta, is optimistic that the completion of the lifting water supply work will solve the water shortage problem in Musachor and Gurukhola. Nevertheless, until then, the locals continue to face difficulty in accessing sufficient drinking water.
