Dhangadhi authorities to coordinate with infrastructure ministry to address flooding issue
Dhangadhi: Dhangadhi sub-metropolitan city and the Infrastructure Ministry have agreed to work together to address the recurring issue of flooding during the monsoon season.
A meeting was held on Thursday at the Physical Infrastructure Development Ministry of the Far West between the ministry and Dhangadhi sub-metropolitan mayor, Gopal Hamal, to discuss the flooding problem in Dhangadhi. It was decided that the provincial government and sub-metropolitan municipality will collaborate to find a solution to the issue.
Residents of Ward No. 3 in Dhangadhi have been suffering from flooding for 3-4 months during the monsoon season. Prakash Deuba, the state's physical infrastructure minister, was elected as a state parliamentarian from this constituency and had promised to solve the flooding problem during the election campaign. Deuba has since initiated efforts to address the issue.
Speaking about the collaboration, Minister Deuba emphasized the need for all levels of government to work together for development, saying, "We will move forward in coordination with all local levels." Mayor Gopal Hamal also highlighted the importance of cooperation and coordination between the provincial government and sub-metropolitan municipality to solve the annual flooding problem and build other developments.
The collaboration between the Physical Infrastructure Ministry and Dhangadhi sub-metropolitan city is a positive step towards addressing the recurring issue of flooding and improving the infrastructure in the area.
