Inquiry Committee Established to Investigate Maternal Death Case at Malakheti Hospital

Dhangadhi: In response to the maternal death case at Malakheti Hospital in Ward No. 3 of Godavari Municipality in Kailali, an inquiry committee has been established. The five-member committee, led by Kailali Assistant Chief District Officer Shivraj Joshi, was formed on Tuesday evening to investigate the matter.

The deceased mother and newborn baby's relatives have alleged negligence on the part of the hospital staff, leading to their untimely demise. The deceased mother's body, Lakshmi Bhatrarai, has not yet been recovered. The grieving relatives are demanding that those health workers responsible for the unfortunate incident be held accountable, the hospital management committee be replaced, and the hospital assume guardianship of the deceased's 7-year-old son.
