Cooperatives that are not registered and working in Kanchanpur will be terminated

Kanchanpur: Kanchanpur recently celebrated the 66th National Cooperative Day, marked by a thematic focus on the "Sustainability of Cooperatives: Self-Regulation and Good Governance." Indreni Agricultural Cooperative Society Ltd. hosted the event, with the participation of municipal officials and cooperative members.

Speaking at the gathering, Padamsingh Thakurathi, the head of the cooperative branch of Bedkot Municipality, noted that out of the 61 cooperatives registered in the area, only 32 are currently active. He announced that non-performing cooperatives would be terminated by the municipal cooperative branch through regulation and monitoring. Thakurathi also emphasized the importance of registering cooperatives in the "Cooperative Management Information System" and maintaining updated data, announcing plans to organize training on this topic.

The event's chairman, Shivraj Bhatt, President of Indreni Agricultural Cooperative Society, reiterated the importance of cooperatives working towards a shared purpose and urged for a concerted effort towards growth in the sector. The chief guest, Janaksingh Bista, President of Vedkot Municipality Ward No.-9, also emphasized the need for good governance and self-regulation to ensure the sustainability of cooperatives.
