Teenage girl drowned in an irrigation canal in Kailali

Dhangadhi: Tragedy struck the Janki Rural Municipality-9 East Khairifanta area of Kailali district, as a 14-year-old girl drowned in an irrigation canal. The victim, identified as Srijan Nath Yogi, was the daughter of Nagmalnath Yogi.

According to local authorities, Srijan Nath Yogi had been swimming in the Rani-Jamara-Kulariya irrigation canal when the incident occurred. Despite rescue efforts, she could not be saved and passed away on Sunday afternoon.

The police have initiated an investigation into the matter and are trying to determine the cause of the drowning. The incident has left the community in shock and mourning, as they come to terms with the loss of a young life.
