Doti district begins free ambulance service for childbirth

Doti: Ambulance service for child delivery has been made free in Doti. Until June 2080, women who are pregnant can avail of the service free of cost. The women in need will be taken to any hospital across the country free of cost.  

 

 

Dhan Bahadur Nepali, president of the district hospital, said that the ambulance service will be provided free of charge if the delivery cannot take place in the District Hospital and has to be taken outside the district.

Arrangements have been made to bring the patients from anywhere in the district by the ambulance of the district hospital at the request of the health institution, local level, or by an individual. There is an arrangement to give Rs 2,200 as transportation to those who give birth in the hospital. Radha Chand of Badikedar Rural Municipality-2 said that after the free ambulance service, pregnant women in rural areas will have to suffer fewer hardships.

Some pregnant women who were in poor financial condition gave birth on the road and at home taking risks. Keeping this in mind, the District Hospital has provided free ambulance service for childbirth. Acting Medical Superintendent of the District Hospital, Niranjan Shrestha, said that the program will provide relief to women who have to be brought to the District Hospital when they cannot give birth in health institutions in rural areas.
