An exponential fall in customs revenue collection in Kailali due to inflation
Dhangadhi: Banks and financial institutions have been reducing credit investment in industry, which has affected revenue collection. The private sector has been complaining that there has been a break in the business cycle after the banks and financial institutions have increased the interest even from the industrial businesses that have invested in loans.
The Customs Department has determined the revenue collection limit of 12,306,678,000 for the current financial year for the Kailali Customs Office, the main import and export point of the Far-West. But since the beginning of the current financial year due to the tightening of bank loans in industrial trade, revenue collection has been decreasing.
In the month of July, the target of 73 crore 13 lakh 38 thousand revenue collection has been set, but only 53 crores 85 lakh 85 thousand (73.64 percent) has been collected. Customs Office Kailali set a target of 91.44 million 69 thousand collections in the month of August, but only 58.74 million 91 thousand (64.24 percent) has been collected.
Similarly, for the target of 972,451,000 in the month of October, the recovery is 573,342,000 (58.93 percent), and in the month of October, the recovery is 76,376,400 (75.05 percent). ) has been recovered.
Similarly, in the month of November, the target of revenue collection is Rs. 50 thousand (62.50 percent) and 1.388 million 61 thousand in the month of January, the collection of 67 million 21 million 87 thousand i.e. 64.70 percent has been seen.
Customs Office Kailali records that only 4.535 million 22 thousand revenue has been collected till the end of January of the current financial year. Information Officer of Kailali Customs Office Pavitra Kumar Khadka said that although the goal is to collect 7 billion 77 crores 16 lakh 56 thousand in the period of five months, Kailali Customs Office is not collecting revenue as per the target. In the last financial year also, out of the set target of collecting a total of 11 billion 8239 million 17 thousand revenue, the collection was only 9 billion 58 million 26 million 50 thousand i.e. 81.04 percent.
