Dhangadhi: Mohanapul-Attaria 6-lane road construction has been handed over without completion. Under the second package of Mohanapul-Attaria 6-lane road construction, the road has been damaged in the Geta vicinity. The construction company has not repaired the road and handed it over to the planning office. Although the road has been damaged the company has neglected to repair it.

During the initial construction of the road, the rollers were not used properly to press the ground and level it. The road began to get damaged much before the completion of the construction. Roads have washed away in most areas of Dhangadhi and Godawari municipalities. Although the construction company has damaged the road, it has been rushing to hand it over without repairing it. Head of Planning Office Ram Bahadur Gurung said that the road has been handed over to the Mahakali Bridge Project.

He said, "Mohanapul-Attaria 6 lane road office has been canceled. It has been handed over to the Mahakali Bridge Project Office. The work is not completed. After completion of the repair work, it will be handed over to the road division only after October. We just have to see.' The road was not well-pressed by the construction company. The risk of accidents has also increased after road quality has deteriorated.

It is a problem to drive a motorcycle in the east lane due to unleveled roads. Locals complain that road accidents are increasing due to road collapses. Gurung said that the construction company did not work. He said that the repair time will be up to one year. Gurung said that road painting, guardrails, and repair of damaged works are still left. The road construction work was completed last year.

The road has not yet been handed over. Even though the road has collapsed and washed away without handover, there is no way to repair it. The construction of the 6-lane road progressed from 2074. The road of 14.2 km has been divided into three sections and constructed. The road is damaged in the eastern lane of the second section. Although Lumbini-Rajendra-Damphe got the contract for this section, the construction work was done by Rajendra Construction Services.

After the completion of any project, there is a maintenance period of up to one year. There is a provision that the construction company should take all responsibility for the damage. Since the maintenance period of the 6-lane road is till next October, the damaged road has to be repaired by Rajendra Construction Services. Mohanapul-Attaria's 6-lane road has been constructed at a cost of 1.65 billion.
