A man dies after drowning in Kailali

Dhangadhi: A man has died after drowning in Kailali.

A man drowned on Sunday while fishing in the Kandra river near Sisaiya village in Ghodaghodi municipality-11 of the district. 22-year-old Amar Thapa of Manghar Dailekh, Bhagwati Mai Rural Municipality-4, who had gone fishing in the river, drowned, said Birendraveer Bishwakarma, head of the area police office Sukhad.

He had gone fishing with a friend on Saturday when he drowned in the Kandra river. He was found dead by a diving team from Attaria on Sunday.

Police said Thapa's body was sent to Tikapur Hospital for post-mortem.

He used to work as a mixer in the Pahalmanpur Lalbozhi road section.
