Dhangadhi: The locals of Dhangadhi have agreed to dig a drainage system on their private land to drain the rainwater in monsoon. The residents of Navdeep village of Dhangadhi sub-metropolitan ward number 2 have given their consent to dig a drainage system for draining water accumulated during monsoon season.  The landowners have said that they have agreed to dig a drain in the fields to solve the city's flooding problem at the request of the Dhangadhi sub-metropolitan municipality.

In Dhangadhi, which is facing the problem of inundation every year during the rainy season, the sub-metropolitan has started a campaign to remove construction from encroached land from last year.

The locals of Dhangadhi, who have been facing the problem of flooding, are eager to solve the problem of flooding this time. To solve the flooding problem, more than half a dozen residents of Ward No. 2 are ready to dig a drain on their land. Mira Shrestha, a resident of Navdeep Tol, said that the neighbors will save more than half a dozen houses, including their own, by letting the sub-municipality dig a drain in the field.

''Because the neighbors are good, they have allowed us to build a drain in the field,' he said, 'due to which our house will be safe.''

Although there is an old drain from Rashmi Medical Hall through Funpark to Mohana up to Hulaki Road, there is no drain from Vanadevi Temple on the side of Hulaki Road. Dhan Bahadur Rai said that when a drain is dug on the side of Hulaki road, it will affect the neighbor's house.

Local Kamala Gurung owns most of the land where the canal will be constructed. Gurung said that she was ready to dig drains in the fields because every year when there is a flood in the city area, water seeps into the houses of many people.

She said, "I agreed to dig a drain from my farm first because the neighbor's house will be saved by the construction of the drain," she said.

Mayor Gopal Hamal has been saying that to solve the flooding problem, the sub-city will seek the help of the locals to open water drains. The mayor, deputy head of the ward, people's representatives, and staff are going to the doorsteps of the people to solve the flooding problem and seeking their help. Mayor Hamal has said that the residents of Navdeep Tol have given a lot of support in the plan to solve the flooding problem.

"We opened an old drain from Rashmi Medical Hall, but we could not find an old drain from Vandevi Bandir of Navdeep Toll," he said. We thank them and request the residents to help in other places as well.'

Locals including Dhan Bahadur Rai, Som Bahadur Rai, Dal Bahadur Rai, Bhim Bahadur Thapa, Jit Bahadur Thapa and Kamala Gurung of Navdeep tol have given their consent to dig a drain on the numbered land.
