Shuklaphanta Municipality to construct two public toilets in Kanchanpur
Mahendranagar: Shuklaphanta Municipality of Kanchanpur is going to construct public toilets at two places. Toilets are going to be constructed in the open platform of Forest Committee Bazar and Jhalari Bazar in the East-West Highway area. 1.6 lakhs have been allocated for the toilets to be constructed in the open platform and 7 lakhs for the toilets to be constructed in the forest committee market.
City chief Ran Bahadur Mahara said that the land has been identified and the contract process has been taken forward. "We are going to construct a toilet in a public area where many people gather," he said. As there is no toilet, people coming to the market area have been defecating in the forest area near the forest committee market.
Due to this, the market area is getting smelly. Similarly, there is a situation where common people have to go to the side of the river to defecate when there is a public program on the open platform. Tikendraraj Bhatta, the chief administrative officer of the municipality, said that along with the work of organizing the old functioning toilets, the repair work will also be carried forward.
According to him, garbage collection boxes will be placed in the main market areas of the municipality, Forest Committee, Jhalari and Kaluwapur. For this, the municipality has arranged a budget of Rs.5 lakh.
