Will Rawal continue to serve as the CM of Sudurpaschim?
Dhangadhi: The meeting of Sudurpaschim Province Assembly has started. Chief Minister Rajendra Singh Rawal has an agenda to take the vote of confidence from the meeting. Now the chief minister is addressing the provincial assembly. Nagarik Unmukti party is not attending the meeting which started at 4 o'clock.
Rajendrasinh Rawal, the leader of the provincial parliamentary party of the CPN-UML, who was appointed as the Chief Minister on Paush 27, had the support of the CPN-Maoist Center, RPP and Nagarik Unmukti.
However, since the Tikapur incident has not been addressed, Nagarik Unmukti has refused to give a vote of confidence. Within a month of the formation of the government, the post of Chief Minister Rawal has fallen into disrepair due to the lack of Nagarik Unmukti Party's support.
According to Article 168 (2) of the Constitution, UML leader Rawal, who became the Chief Minister with the support of CPN-Maoist Center, Nagarik Unmukti and RPP, must receive a vote of confidence by 5 pm on Thursday according to Clause 4, otherwise he will be automatically dismissed according to the Constitution.
