Dhangadhi: The traffic police has increased surveillance on the highway to maintain lane discipline. A rule has been implemented that drivers who cut the road recklessly, do not follow lane discipline and drive under the influence of alcohol will be fined and must undergo a one-hour traffic awareness class. Since last Monday, the district traffic police has given traffic awareness classes to 25 people who were found driving recklessly.

District Traffic Police Office and other traffic units will conduct an one-hour traffic awareness class every week on Fridays to prevent the tendency of violating traffic rules, said Chief Traffic Police Inspector of District Traffic Police Office, Kailali, Birendra Singh Johari.

"We are working on traffic management as it is the main duty of traffic police personnel," he said. The traffic police said that many people have been found violating the traffic rules.

Kailali traffic police chief Zohari said that the traffic awareness class was conducted to inform drivers and road users about traffic rules, promote road civility and reduce road accidents.

"The main job of the traffic police is to make it safe to use the road," he said. We will give regular classes, collect fines and even keep records to those who drink and drive.'

The traffic police said that it is the duty of every citizen to follow the lane discipline because if they do not follow the lane discipline, the traffic will be disturbed, the risk of accidents will increase, the road will be chaotic, and other necessary vehicles will also have to stay in the jam.

The traffic police said that traffic will be eased, accidents will be reduced, road discipline will be maintained, and overtaking will be easier if you use the appropriate speed lane, so everyone should be responsible while using the road.

Head of Kailali District Traffic Police Office Johari said that he has been informed that citizens here are in a habit of violating the lane discipline and many are found drinking and driving during the regular traffic check in Kailali district, the traffic police will adopt zero tolerance and take action according to the traffic rules. The traffic police has requested everyone to be responsible and follow the road discipline and avoid the risk of accidents, he said.
