Construction of 40 MW upper Chamelia hydropower in Darchula reaches its final stage

Dhangadhi: The construction of 40 MW upper Chamelia hydropower in Darchula has reached its final stage. The construction of the project, which is being built by Api Power Company Limited, has reached its final stage. This is the sixth project of Api Power.

The executive director of the company, Sanjiv Neupane, said that the construction of the project will be completed by the end of next month, with the goal of commercial production. At present, the construction work of power house, surge tank, substation of the project has been completed 100 percent, while 800 meters of pipe connection and the final civil work of the dam site are underway.

Neupane said that Api, which has been continuously distributing dividends to shareholders, will be able to give more attractive dividends after starting commercial production from the sixth project. Api is constructing this 40 MW project using the water of Chamelia River flowing in Darchula district.

The electricity produced by the project will be connected to the Balanch substation of Chamelia Hydropower Project of Nepal Electricity Authority through 132 kV towers. The company had issued rights shares to raise more capital for the construction of this project. Looking at the five-year history of dividend distribution, Api has distributed dividends up to 11.05 percent.

From the profits of the financial year 2077-78, Appi has distributed the highest dividend so far. From last year's profit, Api has proposed to distribute 7.5 percent bonus shares and zero 39 percent cash dividend for tax purposes. The company has previously completed construction of 8.5 MW Naugad Hydroelectric Project and 8 MW Upper Naugad Hydroelectric Project in Darchula district and is supplying electricity to the national transmission line.
