Government of Nepal announces a public holiday tomorrow

Kathmandu: The government has decided to give a public holiday on Wednesday (tomorrow) across the country. The government has announced a public holiday on the day of Prithvi Jayanti. Minister of the Department Rajendra Rai informed that the meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Monday evening decided to give a public holiday on December 11.
The government has decided to give a holiday on December 11 in response to the demands of the ruling party, the Rashtriya Prajatantra Party (RPP). In the past, there was a practice of giving a public holiday in Nepal on the occasion of Prithvi Narayan Shah's birth anniversary. But after the mass movement of 2062/63, the holiday was stopped.
