Will Nagrik Unmikti Party support the UML-LED government?
Dhangadhi: A total of 53 members are elected for the provincial assembly out of which 32 are chosen for direct representation while the remaining 21 seats are for proportional representation in the Sudurpaschim provincial assembly. There are 7 members of the Nagrik Unmikti Party, which participated in the Provincial Assembly for the first time. They took the oath of office and secrecy on Friday.
The party center has decided to support the UML-led government. However, in the Far-West, the provincial assembly members who won from the Nagrik Unmikti Party have a different view about the UML-led government. Different views are being made public about whether to participate in the provincial government by the Nagrik Unmikti. Khusiram Chaudhary, a member of the state assembly from the party, has said that he will participate in the government along with the chief minister. But Rameshwar Chaudhary, who has been appointed as the leader of the party by the party center, has claimed that the release of Rajbandi is their main agenda.
Rameshwar Chaudhary, who has been appointed as the leader of the party by the party center, has claimed that the release of Rajbandi is their main agenda. Khushi Ram said, "If we go to the government in the Far-West, the government should be formed under the leadership of the Nagrik Unmikti Party." If we go to the government and don't get a chief minister, will stay in the opposition.' 27 members are required to form the government in Far-West, which has a total of 53 provincial assembly members. In the state, the Maoist Center has 11 members, UML has 10, Nagrik Unmikti has 7 and RPP has one state assembly member.
It seems that the government will be formed according to the new equation in Far-West if only the agenda of Nagrik Unmikti is supported. The new alliance led by the UML has 29 out of 53 provincial assembly members. But the members of the provincial assembly of Nagrik Unmikti appear to be divided. Rameshwar Choudhary, who is said to have been elected the leader of the Nagrik Unmikti Party, said, "The main agenda is the release of the prisoners including Resham Chaudhary, the patron of the party." Seven of our members are in jail. As long as Rajbandi is in jail, we will not go to the government, we will not even support it." Rameshwar, who is said to be the leader of the party, has been saying that the release of Rajbandi is their main demand, while other leaders are striving to be the Chief Minister. Some provincial assembly members are seen against the party center. Khusiram Chaudhary said that the discussion for the leader of the party is continuing in the party. But Rameshwar Chaudhary has claimed that there is no dispute saying that he is the leader of the party. There is also a controversy in the selection of the leader of the parliamentary party of the Nagrik Unmikti party.
On January 10, a press conference was held in Kathmandu and parliamentary responsibilities were assigned from the state to the union. The party center selected Rameshwar Chaudhary as the leader of the parliamentary party in Far-West. Laxman Kishore Chaudhary was said to be the chief whip in the province and Ghanshyam Chaudhary was given the responsibility of the whip. But in the Far-West, the decision of the party center is being opposed. In Far-West, there are 19 members of the Nepali Congress, 4 members of the United Socialist Party, and one independent provincial assembly member.
If the Nagrik Unmikti Party does not support the UML-led government, a provincial government can be formed with a unified socialist and an independent provincial assembly member. But one member of the provincial assembly will be made the speaker and one the deputy speaker, it seems that there will be more problems. It is estimated that the Congress, which has 19 state members, can form a state government by involving Nagrik Unmikti and Ekikrit Samajbadi (Unified Socialist). But the efforts to include the Ekikrit Samajbadi in the central politics in the new equation of the UML leadership continue.
