Man-made lake with a four-lane concrete bridge across Mahakali River to be completed by March

Mahendranagar: A man-made lake for tourists is to be constructed along with a four-lane concrete bridge on the Mahakali River at Odali, Bhimdatta Municipality-12, Kanchanpur. According to the Mahakali Bridge Project Office, four lakes will be constructed along with the bridge.
There is a plan to plant 5000 saplings next to it. Savina Ranabhat, information officer of the Mahakali Bridge Planning Office, said that along with the construction of the bridge, four lakes are going to be constructed along the banks of the Mahakali River to attract tourists.
"Four lakes will be built around the bridge along the riverbank. Tourists can access the riverbank by boating", he said. Engineer Kishoreraj Pandey of Kumar CFEC JV, which is constructing a bridge on the Mahakali river, said that the construction of a four-lane bridge on the Mahakali river has been completed. He said that the access road to the bridge is under construction but it had been delayed as they are facing paucity of raw materials.
"Out of the 8.6 kilometers of tarred roads, seven kilometers of roads have been constructed", he said, "The bridge is not only important to reduce traffic but is also important to attract tourists." According to him, four lakes are being constructed on the north side of the bridge, two larger than one square kilometer and two on the south side of zero.3 square kilometers.

Currently, a dam for the lakes is being constructed. "There will be three islands in the middle of the pond, you can come and go there by boat", he said, "it will become an attractive destination for tourists." The construction of the bridge, which is going to be built at a cost of 3 billion 66 crores, has progressed in order to complete the construction by next March.
