Modi's effigy was burnt at Maitighar in protest against Mahakali river encroachment

Kathmandu: Demonstrations were held in various places in Kathmandu on Wednesday against the encroachment of the Mahakali river in Darchula and the Indian side's excesses on Nepalese.

All revolutionaries and other student organizations demonstrated at the Indian Embassy area in Lanchaur and Maitighar Mandal. They came to the demonstration carrying placards written against India with black banners. They also burnt the photo of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Protesters raised slogans against India and criticized the government for standing idly by despite the injustice done to Nepali citizens. India is building an embankment towards Uttarkhand and pushing the Mahakali river towards Nepal. The Indians are attacking the Nepalis who protested against it
