Students arrested for protesting in Dhangadhi

Dhangadhi: The situation has become tense in Dhangadhi after the students staged a protest. The situation became tense after the protesters broke the curfew imposed by the district administration office. To bring the situation under control, the police fired 8 tear gas shells. After the tear gas was fired, the students dispersed.

Students of Dhangadhi are protesting after their classmate died after being crushed by a grader. Students protested after Chetna Saund, a class 8 student of Panchodaya Secondary School in Dhangadhi, was crushed to death by a grader during road construction at 10 am on Thursday.

District Administration Office Kailali issued a prohibitory order from 7 pm on Thursday evening until further notice was issued after the incident became widespread. Amidst the curfew, even now, in some places of Dhangadhi, students are protesting against the police administration, shouting slogans. The police detained 11 people including students and local women participating in the demonstration.

The students are demanding action against the driver along with compensation for the incident. Now the discussion is going on in the ZIPR office.
