A man arrested in a hit and run case in Kanchanpur

Dhangadhi: A jeep driver who ran away after hitting a pedestrian in Kanchanpur has been arrested.

According to District Police Office Kanchanpur, 36-year-old Luvdev Bhatta of Godawari Municipality-3 Chowkidanda of Kailali was killed when a Scorpio 9 Zip 0 with number UA 041779 hit him near the ward office of Krishnapur Municipality-5 on Sunday. Karan Chand of Bhimdatta Municipality-7, the driver of the jeep that hit the pedestrian, was arrested by the police and further investigation into the incident is ongoing.

Bhatta, who was seriously injured in the collision, died during treatment at Seti Provincial Hospital, Dhangadhi.

District Police Office Kanchanpur said that the vehicle that hit the deceased was found on Monday during the investigation. Relatives of the deceased also blocked the road yesterday demanding justice by arresting the driver.
