Construction company unsure of completing the construction of Dhangadhi main road
Dhangadhi: The federal government signed an agreement with Kalika Construction in June 2077 for the construction of 10 km of roads through the regional urban development project. The contract has expired but the construction of the main road of Dhangadhi has not yet started. The construction agreement was signed without looking for an alternative for the water supply pipe of the road from Dhangadhi traffic intersection to Kailali bridge.
Prakashchandra Kharel, representative of Kalika Construction, said that the road construction work has been affected because the Regional Urban Development could not approve the water pipe expansion plan. He said, " rest of the process has been completed." Until the contract for the Main road is completed they cannot commence their work. On the main road, the old water pipes are broken, there is leakage.
An agreement was signed between Regional Urban Development Project and Kalika Construction for 685 million 98 thousand for the construction of 7 roads with a total length of 10 kilometers in two years. It is mentioned in the agreement to relocate electricity and telephone poles. But the issue of moving the water pipe has not been included in the contract.
The water pipe on the main road of Dhangadhi is old and the plan to extend the new pipe line on both sides has not been approved by the road department. Ramesh Thing, Head of Regional Urban Development Project, Dhangadhi, said that it will be approved after the elections. It has reached the final stage. The file has been returned for correction. The proposal has not been denied but it is undecided," he said.
Other roads in Dhangadhi, which were constructed through Regional Urban Development, are being completed within 2 months. But the construction company does not have the approval for the construction of the main road. The construction company intends not to work because the construction of the road is not approved. It is said that the road cannot be constructed as there is no approval for extending the water supply line on the road.
Kharel, the representative of Kalika Construction, said that the road from Kailali bridge to the intersection cannot be constructed. "If the approval is done within a week, it will work, otherwise it will not work. It is necessary to buy water pipes. Line should be given from house to house. A drain should be made. Other work will be completed in 2 month and our team will eventually leave from here, we cannot extend our stay for a single road."
1.38 km road from Dhangadhi traffic intersection to Kailali bridge, 2.7 km Gulm-Church road, 700 meters long Hulaki-Jakhore Tal road, 3.65 km Campus Gate-Chatakpur road, 870 meters Dhangadhi-Khutia-Saule road. , 430 meters of Malpot road and 1.15 km of Hasanpur road have been signed for black topping. It is claimed that except for the main road of Dhangadhi, the rest of the road construction work will be completed within 2 months.
