25,000 personnel mobilized in Far-West for the forthcoming election
Dhangadhi: Approximately 25,000 personnel including volunteers will be mobilized in Far-West Province for the election of representatives and provincial assembly members to be held on November 20. The applicants are being trained and prepared. They have learned to seal the ballot papers and have stocked up on the paraphernalia required for the election.
According to Premraj Bhatta, head of the State Election Office, duties to individuals will be assigned for the election based on the number of voters in the polling station. Polling Officers, Assistant Polling Officers, Assistant Staff, Volunteers, and Office Assistants will be mobilized.
Bhatta said that apart from the security personnel, an additional 25,000 workers have been mobilized for the elections in the province, including volunteers. He said, "In the centers with up to 500 voters, 11 people including volunteers have been deployed, similarly 12 people have been deployed in the centers which have more than 500 voters."
Two thousand 146 polling stations and one thousand 161 polling stations have been set up in nine districts of Far-West. In addition, 22 temporary polling stations have been designated across the state. Based on the number of voters in the province, ballot papers have also reached each district. Bhatta said that preparations including sealing the ballot papers have reached the final stage. " More than 5% of voters have already reached here. The work of packing and sealing the ballot paper and other materials required for the election is going on, he said."
It has been said that the training for polling officers and assistant polling officers has been conducted and after their training, ballots and election materials will be transported to the respective polling stations. Bhatt said that the work of transportation of ballot papers and election materials will start from today onwards and they will reach their respective polling centers by November 17.
There are 16 constituencies for the House of Representatives and 32 for the State Assembly, and there are 16 lakh 58 thousand voters in Far-West. As the election approaches, the candidates have intensified their campaigns. While the locals working abroad have returned to their villages to cast votes.
