Melauli municipality of Baitadi locked down
Dhangadhi: A lockdown has been imposed in Melauli Municipality of Baitadi. Locals have locked down the 15-bed hospital in the municipality saying that it should be built in the designated place.
On Thursday, the residents of ward number 1 of the municipality locked down the municipality. They have alleged that even though land has been made available for the construction of a hospital in Bithane, which is located in their ward, the municipality is trying to shift it elsewhere. They demand that the hospital should be built in the old place.
The channel gate, health branch, education branch and other branches of the municipality have been locked. Although the federal government decided to build a 15-bed hospital there in 2070 BS, it has been stuck until now due to disputes.
