Monitoring in Gauriphanta border increases to curb the spread of Coronavirus
Dhangadhi: Gauriphanta border crossing with India is being monitored. Due to the increase in the rate of Coronavirus amongst returnees from India, on-site monitoring is being conducted for the administration of tests and vaccinations at the checkpoints.
The monitoring group will collect samples to test the virus. The returness who test positive will be kept in isolation. A group of health workers including Social Development Minister Govindaraj Bohra of Sudurpaschim Province, Gopal Hamal, Mayor of Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City, Kiran Thapa, Chief District Officer of Kailali, D.I.G Mohan Kumar Acharya of Sudurpaschim visited the border crossing to check the monitoring.
They have also shown interest in the management of the infected. Minister of Social Development of Far West Bohara said that allowances and rewards will be arranged for the health workers working at the border areas to encourage them. Hamal, the mayor of Dhangadhi sub-metropolitan city, said that he would coordinate with the provincial government and the Punarwas municipality of Kanchanpur for the management of the border area. He said that since the rate of infection has increased again, proper management of the border area is very necessary.
In Gauriphanta border area, there are health workers assigned by the health office under the social development ministry of the province, Dhangadhi sub-metropolitan municipality, Punarwas municipality and various associations/organizations.
