The number of divorces and drug cases increases in Kailali
Dhangadhi: In the current financial year, 2075 cases have been registered in District Court Kailali. One thousand 13 cases have been transferred to the court, 3 thousand 88 cases are pending in District Court Kailali and 1 thousand 664 cases have been dismissed while 1 thousand 424 cases are yet to be dismissed.
According to District Judge Jayanand Paneru, only 902 cases have been disposed of in newly registered cases, while there are 1,173 cases. He said, "We have not been able to solve the case according to the target. Due to the election, it has been delayed a bit." Divorce cases are the most registered in District Court Kailali. There are 550 divorce cases in the district. Among them, 169 cases have been disposed of and 381 cases are pending. The number of divorce cases due to foreign employment, drug and alcohol consumption has increased in Kailali.
District Judge Paneru said, "Foreign employment seems to be the main reason. Divorce also happens due to alcohol consumption." The number of drug cases in Kailali is also alarming. There are 129 drug related cases in the district. Only 54 drug cases have been disposed of and 175 cases remain. Due to the open border, the number of drug dealers and users has increased in the district. But the district court does not have the data of the arrests of big businessmen by the police. There is no case against big businessmen. A case has been initiated against users found with less than 10 grams of drugs. There is only one example of 30 grams.
Similarly, in 250 cases of extortion, 73 cases are pending and 132 are pending. In 22 cases of dereliction of duty, 13 cases were dismissed and 9 pending, in 291 cases of check dishonor, 161 cases were dismissed and 130 were pending. Out of 141 cases involving children in the district, 63 cases have been disposed of and 78 are pending. The rate of disposal of cases in District Court Kailali is low.
