Forest rangers examinations being conducted in Kailali
Dhangadhi: The Far Western Public Service Commission is conducting the examination of forest rangers. Physical tests and races are being held at the Armed Police Force headquarters in Attaria and Beheda Baba. The Public Service has fixed 54 marks for the experimental examination of forest rangers, 40 marks for the written examination and 6 marks for the oral examination. The pilot test is being conducted and controlled by officials from the Chief Minister's Office, the Provincial Public Service Commission, and the District Administration Office, according to the Provincial Public Service Commission.
According to the Provincial Public Service Commission, more than 35,000 people have applied for 163 posts. In order to pass the forest ranger's experimental test, the candidates will be required to undergo eye test, height, chest width, weight, 200 meter and 3000 meter run and tree climbing. The pilot test is being conducted at the Armed Police Force headquarters in Attariya and Banbehda.
In addition to the Public Service Commission, the Chief Minister's Office, the Council of Ministers, the Ministry, the District Administration Office and the Armed Police Force are also involved in the examination, said Hiralal Chaudhary, spokesperson of the commission. "An experimental test of the forest ranger is being conducted, a physical examination of 2,000 people is being conducted daily and a test of tree climbing is being conducted. Examinations are being conducted in two places and selection is being done in a transparent manner." He said.
To be a forest ranger, the minimum height of a male candidate should be 5 feet 2 inches while the height of a female candidate is 5 feet. The width of the chest of a male candidate should be 31 inches when not inflated and 33 inches when inflated. The weight of male candidate is 50 kg and that of the female candidate is 42 kg. According to Netra KC, Deputy Superintendent of Armed Police, the examination is being conducted as per the criteria of the state public service.
"The experimental examination is being conducted as per the criteria set by the Public Service Commission. The results of physical examination, running, tree climbing and swimming are transparent. Arrangements have been made to show CCTV cameras if the examinees are not satisfied." he said.
To become a forest ranger, every candidate has to run 200 and 3,000 meters in the stipulated time. Candidates who complete the 200 meter race within 28 seconds will get 20 marks, those who complete it in 28.1 to 32 seconds will get 15 marks and those who complete it in 32.1 to 36 seconds will get 10 marks. Candidates who take more than 36 seconds will fail.
The candidate who completes the 3,000 meter race in 12 minutes gets 20 marks, the candidate who completes the race in 12.1 to 14 minutes gets 15 marks and the candidate who completes the race in 14.1 seconds to 16 minutes gets 10 marks. In tree climbing, men should complete 7 meters and women 5 meters. Similarly, in swimming, men have to cross five and a half meters and women four and a half meters.
