Floods and landslides in Baitadi: Irrigation canal flooded, 6 houses at risk

Baitadi: Irrigation canals have been flooded due to floods and landslides caused by dozers digging roads over the Sigas settlement in Baitadi. Two irrigation canals of Sigas rural municipality-3 have been washed away due to continuous rain for the past two days and 6.29 acres of fields and six houses are at high risk.

According to the locals, the floods from the Sinyakhet-Garje road section at Sigas-3 have put Saunkhet and Gadtolagad farms and six houses at high risk. The houses of Dan Singh Saud, Karbir Saud, Mansingh Saud, Karna Saud, Joga Saud and Nawaraj Saud of Sinyakhet are at high risk after the flood and landslide from the road entered the field. Families at risk have been forced to leave their homes.

According to the District Administration Office, Baitadi, further details are being sought as information about the floods and landslides has been received.
