Dhangadhi: Journalists have visited Shuklaphanta National Park on the budget of the Far Western Provincial Government. The journalists visited the state under the budget of the state tourism development program implementation unit under the ministry of industry, tourism, forest and environment.

In the current Fiscal Year 2078/07, the Far Western Government had allocated Rs. 5 lakhs under the Khaptad Visit Program for the promotion of tourism. However, at the request of the Far-Western Committee of the Federation of Nepali Journalists, the title has been amended to include workshops and safaris for journalists, said Bhoj Raj Pathak, head of the Tourism Development Program Implementation Unit.

Journalists from the far west, including Dhangadhi, have been on a Shuklaphanta safari from yesterday (Wednesday) till today. The government is now being criticized after the journalists were given a safari in the government budget. Meanwhile, Ram Singh Thagunna, general secretary of the Federation of Nepali Journalists' Far Western Province Committee, said that interaction was also held with the journalists during the two-day safari program. He claims that this will help in the development of the tourism sector.
