Bhajani and Basti of Joshipur flooded

Dhangadhi: Some wards of Bhajani Municipality and Joshipur rural Municipality of Kailali have been flooded due to heavy rains on Tuesday night. Some places in Bhajani Municipality-3, 4, 5, 7 and 8 have been inundated.

Similarly, dozens of houses have been flooded in Joshipur rural municipality-3. The floodwaters of the Kandra River have crossed the surface and the houses of the locals have been inundated when the Kadha River burst. According to local Jay Prasad Dhungana, the houses of locals including Ause Damai are at risk when the dam bursts.

Local Khemraj Pandey said that the water level in Kandra, Patharaiya, Kadha and Mohana rivers has risen due to the rains. "The water level is rising. We urge the locals to be vigilant. In some places, the water level has risen above the road. If the water level continues to rise, hundreds of families could be relocated to safer places." Pandey said.
