Dhangadhi: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that Geta Medical College will be turned into a health science academy. Inaugurating the administrative building of Dhangadhi Sub-metropolis on Saturday, Prime Minister Deuba said that Geta Medical College would be turned into a health science academy.

At the inauguration ceremony of the building, the mayor of the sub-metropolis, Gopal Hamal, had demanded the prime minister to make Geta a medical university or health science academy. In the same meeting, Far-Western Chief Minister Trilochan Bhatta also mentioned that Geta should be made a health science academy. Prime Minister Deuba is also positive about this.

"I will return to Kathmandu and take a decision from the Council of Ministers. By making a law, Geta will be made a health science academy." he said. Voices have been raised from the past that Geta, which has reached the final stage of construction of physical infrastructure, should be turned into a medical university or health science academy. In addition to this, there is a demand for immediate operation of the completed medical college.
