Shahi murder case in Achham: Body to be retrieved today

Dhangadhi: The body of 17-year-old Binod Shahi of Achham's Panchadeval Binayak Municipality-4, Kalikasthan, Kuchi will be retrieved today. The District Administration Office, Achham has stated that the body will be picked up after completing the legal process.

Shahi, who has been missing since May 31st, was found dead on Saturday morning. His body was found on the Kuchi hill. After that, UML cadres accused the Congress cadres of killing Binod and stopped the police from going to the spot. Police also fired aerial fire and tear gas to control the situation in the tense Binayak area.

Chief District Officer of Achham, Bishwaraj Marasini, informed that the CIB and police arrived at the spot today with a trained dog after reaching an agreement with the protesting UML cadres and locals. A six-member team led by DSP Manohar Prasad Bhat has been deployed to investigate the incident. This incident has also taken a political form as the controversy over the local election day on May 13th has been protracted.
