This is how the master plan to steal an idol from a temple was made inside the Kanchanpur Prison
Kanchanpur: Korode Bahadur Bohara, 60, of Bijgada, Bungal Municipality, Bajhang is an inmate in the Kanchanpur prison.
He was jailed on a the charges of theft. There he met Prakash Pal and Lal Bahadur Bohara, who were arrested on July 4 on the charge of killing Ganesh Bohara of Bhimdatta Municipality-9, Khallamchhetti. After becoming close friends they made a plan to steal an idol from the temple.
The plan was to steal a 14 kg silver and 3 kg silver idol(statue) from the ancient Siddhababa temple at Khallamchetti. After stealing the idol from their village, it was to be handed over to Lal Bahadur's brother. He said he planned to sell the idol. According to the plan, the idol worth a total of Rs 500,000 was to be stolen after the release of Korode Bahadur.
Korode Bahadur initially refused because of the risk of being caught in the scheme. "But after seeing the money being offered, even 'Mahadev's 3rd eyes would open', he says, because of the greed to acquire 500,000, he finally agreed. After the plan, he was released from jail on Thursday.
As soon as he was released, he went to steal the idol. After going there, according to the plan, he broke into Prakash Pal's liquor shop at 3 am on Friday and stole liquor. He then went to the temple and stole the idol. But while returning, some locals became suspicious of him. On checking, the idol was found with him.
The locals caught him and handed him over to the police. According to the District Police Office, Kanchanpur, a case of theft has been registered against him and further investigation is underway.
