District Hospital Baitadi faces shortage of oxygen to treat Coronavirus patients

Dhangadhi: District Hospital Baitadi is short of oxygen as the number of patients suffering from Coronavirus are increasing, said Vasant Raj Joshi.

He said that it was not possible to admit more patients due to lack of oxygen supply. At present, 10 infected people are being treated at the district hospital on oxygen support, Joshi said.

He said that the oxygen cylinders in the hospital were empty and there was no supply of oxygen. Coronavirus patients are being referred to go out of station for treatment due to lack of oxygen supply.

So far, 31 people have been admitted to the District Hospital, Baitadi for treatment since the second wave of Coronavirus. Nine of them have recovered and seven have been referred elsewhere. Similarly, two people have died due to Coronavirus in the District Hospital.
