२०७७ चैत्र ३०, ०६:०९

Dhangadhi: The air of Dhangadhi, the temporary capital of the far-western state, has been continuously polluted for the past few days.

In the last 24 hours, Dhangadhi's AQI exceeded 400 making it the most polluted city of Nepal. On Monday, the air pollution portal of the Ministry of Environment of the Government of Nepal saw that the air pollution index of Dhangadhi had reached 430. Air is considered normal up to AQI 50 but when the AQI touches 100 the air is considered polluted. Exceeding AQI 400 means that the air is extremely polluted and is very harmful for everyone.

According to experts, the factors that poison the air in Dhangadhi and other cities in Nepal are: Burning plastic everywhere, No landfill sites to manage plastic waste and other waste; Constant forest fires and almost no effort to extinguish them; Burning fields after crops are cut; Vehicles plying on the roads under construction are constantly blowing dust and emitting smoke.

According to experts, extinguishing forest fire and not burning all kinds of plastics and other faucets and taps can prevent the air from becoming more polluted.
