Search for missing police personnel continues

Dhangadhi: Locals are searching for Ram Bahadur Saud, a police constable of Dhangadhi Sub-metropolitan 12.

Ram Kumar Rana, a local, informed that the locals of Phulnaiya settlement in Jugeda Katan of Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan-10 are engaged in search operation near the incident site. Stating that their settlement has been discredited due to the criminal incident, Rana told Dinesh Khabar that the villagers have been assisting the police since this morning.

They have started searching in Mohana River, Sukuti Nala, Ukhubari and other places. Meanwhile, the police team has intensified search operation in the area since Sunday morning. The police have arrested 13 locals in connection with the murder of Assistant Inspector of Police (ASP) Govinda BK and the disappearance of Jawan Saud while on duty.

According to the locals, the police have arrested 11 students from Phulnaiya for investigation. Panic has gripped the locals after their arrest. The youths, who had been home that night, were also arrested for questioning said a local. Dutha Rana of Phulnaiya claimed that the police had arrested her 12-year-old son after dispute being home that evening.

Ward Chairman of Dhangadhi Sub-metropolitan 10 Rajendra Rana said that strict action should be taken against the culprits but the innocent should not be involved in the incident. Bankatti Ghat in Jugeda is a transit point for smuggling. Illegal goods are transported from the Indian market Paliya and Suda Bazaar to Dhangadhi market through this route.
