NYEF Kailali Holds Learning Event on Tax Compliance, Business Management
Dhangadhi: The National Youth Entrepreneurs Forum (NYEF) Kailali organized a learning event focused on tax and compliance at Subhashree Palace in Dhangadhi.
Bhim Prasad Kafle, Chief Tax Officer at the Inland Revenue Office, Dhangadhi, attended the event as the chief guest. The program provided information on business operations, the tax system, and various regulations that taxpayers are required to follow.
Guest speaker Tarka Raj Jaisi, an official from the Inland Revenue Office, Dhangadhi, briefed participants on business registration procedures, Value Added Tax (VAT), and tax filing processes. He also discussed new provisions regarding tax exemptions and concessions, taxpayer incentive schemes, and the digital tax system.
Additionally, Chartered Accountant Tek Raj Paneru presented a paper on financial literacy and business management titled “Sales are a Show, Profit is an Illusion, Cash is Reality.” He explained that even large companies risk insolvency if they lack proper cash reserves and liquidity management, despite showing paper profits.
Noting that sales and profits alone do not reflect the true state of a business, he emphasized that sustainability cannot be achieved without effective management of receivables and inventory, as well as a robust internal audit system.
He also delivered a presentation covering the latest tax updates, tax compliance, and tax planning. The event saw a significant turnout of NYEF Kailali members, ACCA students from SPA College, and students from various other colleges in Dhangadhi.
The organizers stated that the program helped students and young entrepreneurs gain practical knowledge regarding the tax system, business registration, VAT, tax filing, tax compliance, and digital tax services.
