Janasarokar Post Rastriya Dainik Provides Financial Support for Ailing Journalist Rajendra Bista

Kanchanpur: Janasarokar Post Rastriya Dainik, published from Baitadi and Kanchanpur in Sudurpaschim Province, has provided financial assistance for the treatment of ailing journalist Rajendra Bista on the occasion of its 14th anniversary.

Rajendra Prasad Awasthi, publisher and editor-in-chief of Janasarokar Post Rastriya Dainik, said the newspaper provided Rs. 5,100 as a contribution toward the treatment of Bista, who is undergoing treatment at Bir Hospital.

“We have provided even a small assistance to journalist Bista, who is undergoing treatment at Bir Hospital, on the occasion of the newspaper’s anniversary,” Awasthi said. “We have provided whatever small assistance we could to our colleagues for their health and safety.”

Bista, an ordinary member of the Federation of Nepali Journalists, Kanchanpur, and former central vice-president of Press Chautari, is currently working at the National News Committee (RSS Central Office, Kathmandu).

Bista is undergoing treatment at Bir Hospital for a serious illness. As his treatment is expected to require a significant amount of money, an appeal has been made for financial assistance. Awasthi, who has been actively involved in journalism for nearly two and a half decades, has also appealed to all concerned to provide possible support for Bista’s treatment.

Awasthi, who is also the current secretary of the Federation of Nepali Journalists, Kanchanpur, and central secretary of the Press Center, handed over the transfer voucher for the assistance to Suresh Singh Dhami, president of the Federation of Nepali Journalists, Kanchanpur, on Thursday.

Dhami, who was also the chief guest at the program organized on the occasion of the daily’s anniversary to hand over assistance to the ailing journalist, said journalists should support and stand with colleagues during difficult times.

“On the 14th anniversary of Janasarokar Post Rastriya Dainik, the effort made by the daily to support the treatment of ailing journalist colleague Rajendra Bista, although small, is commendable,” he said. “In this way, it becomes our social responsibility to support our colleagues in their difficult times.”

Dhami has appealed for possible assistance from all concerned for the treatment of ailing journalist Bista.

For the past 14 years, Janasarokar Post Rastriya Dainik has been raising issues related to poverty, corruption and contemporary affairs in Sudurpaschim Province. On the occasion of the newspaper’s anniversary, colleagues and representatives of concerned organizations have extended congratulations and best wishes to the newspaper.
