Bajura landslide claims life of missing woman, two others injured
Bajura: The body of a woman who went missing after a landslide buried her house in Tamsu, Tribeni Municipality-9, Bajura, has been recovered. The body of 20-year-old Pratiksha Thapa of Tribeni Municipality-9, who went missing after a landslide buried her house last night amid incessant rainfall, was found inside the buried house. Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, Nepal Army and local residents were mobilized to search for Thapa. Naresh Bahadur Shahi, Information Officer at the District Police Office, confirmed that her body was recovered from inside the house buried by the landslide. Local resident Dipendra Thapa said other houses in the settlement are also at risk due to the landslide. The houses of locals Dharma Thapa and Karna Bahadur Thapa were completely damaged. Dharma Thapa and Dhauli Devi Rawal were injured in the landslide. According to police, both are undergoing treatment at the district hospital.
