Teachers' Federation objects to promotional song for 'Masterni'

Kathmandu: The Nepal Teachers' Federation has expressed its disagreement with the words used in the promotional song for the Nepali film 'Masterni', which will be released from Bhadra 5. The federation has urged the correction of the words used in the song as they are derogatory towards the teaching profession.

In a press release issued today, Federation President Laxmikishore Subedi and General Secretary Tula Bahadur Thapa said that the song, which uses derogatory and insulting words and expressions against female teachers, has seriously attacked the dignity of teachers and the teaching profession. The federation has urged the immediate closure of the song and not to use it in the film.
