Youth rescued safely after being stranded in Godavari River

Kailali: A man who was stranded in the middle of the Godavari River in Kailali has been rescued safely.

The incident occurred on Sunday in Godavari Municipality-4, where 36-year-old Apil Malla of Bardagoriya Rural Municipality-1, Kailali, was rescued after being trapped on an island in the middle of the river.

According to Malakheti Police, Malla had become stranded while returning after having a meal.

A joint disaster rescue team comprising personnel from the Nepal Army, Nepal Police and Armed Police Force Nepal reached the site immediately and rescued him safely, police said.
