71 absconding accused arrested in Kanchanpur as police intensify court verdict implementation

Mahendranagar: Kanchanpur police have intensified the implementation of court verdicts by launching special operations to arrest absconding accused sentenced to imprisonment and fines.

The District Police Office Kanchanpur has increased surveillance and mobilization across the district to arrest individuals absconding in various criminal cases after being convicted by the court.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Tek Bahadur Rawat, spokesperson of the District Police Office Kanchanpur, informed that 71 absconding accused have been arrested and produced before the court since last Baisakh.

According to the District Police Office, 34 absconding accused were arrested in Baisakh, 14 in Jestha, and 23 absconding accused have been arrested so far in Asar.

“The process of arresting absconding accused in cases ranging from murder, dereliction of duty to drug-related offenses is ongoing,” spokesperson Rawat said. “Those sentenced to imprisonment are being sent to jail through the court process.”

The police have mobilized plainclothes personnel to arrest absconding accused.

“We have started searching for absconding accused by obtaining lists from the court and administrative offices,” Rawat said. “Even if they are hiding after committing crimes, the police will remain active to bring them under legal action.”
