Two critically injured as bus plunges off road in Gairakhan, Baitadi; 17 hurt

Baitadi: Seventeen passengers were injured in a bus accident in Baitadi on Friday afternoon.

The passenger bus with registration number S.P.P. 01-001 Kha 3963, en route from Dhangadhi towards Baitadi headquarters, met with an accident at around 3 pm in the Gairakhan area of Patan Municipality-8 along the Dasharathchand Highway.

According to Police Inspector Bhuwan Timalsina, Information Officer at the District Police Office, Baitadi, the bus fell approximately 60 meters off the road. Initial reports confirm that 17 passengers were injured, with two in critical condition.

The injured have been rescued and sent to Dadeldhura Hospital for further treatment, police said.

The cause of the accident has not yet been determined, and further investigation into the incident is ongoing.
