22 injured as passenger bus en route from Dhangadhi to Kathmandu overturns in Kapilvastu
Kapilvastu: A passenger bus traveling from Dhangadhi to Kathmandu met with an accident on the postal road section at Gaidahawa, Maharajgunj Municipality-2, injuring 22 people.
The bus, Sudurpaschim Province 01-001 Kha 3721, operated by Shivpuri Luxury Coach Pvt. Ltd., lost control and struck a divider before overturning on the road.
The injured include bus driver Harisingh Mahara, 42, of Geta, Dhangadhi Sub-metropolitan City-13, Kailali; Chakra Bahadur Rokaya, 25, of Khalakanda, Sigas Rural Municipality-6, Baitadi; Bharat Malla, 30, of Datedaya, Dipayal, Silgadhi Municipality-5, Doti; Bimal Bhatta, 28, of Godavari Municipality-1, Kailali; Sita Devi Badi, 55, of Godavari Municipality-2; Narendra Tamrakar, 29, of Dadeldhura; his wife Alia Tamrakar, 25, of Bajhang; Sudarshan Tamrakar, 23, of Thalara Rural Municipality-5, Bajhang; Lochan Bista, 15, of Malladohi, Purchaudi Municipality-8, Baitadi; and his father Krishna Bahadur Bista, 45, of Malladohi.
Also injured are 77-year-old Ganapati Bhagari of Phulbari, Dhangadhi Sub-metropolitan City-18, Kailali; 24-year-old Akhil Kumar Thadiya of Jawalpur, Ghodaghodi Municipality-6; 65-year-old Bhadrakrishna Mishra of Bharatpur Metropolitan City-26, Chitwan; 24-year-old Gopal Poudel of Dhangadhi Sub-metropolitan City-18, Kailali; 40-year-old Kesh Bahadur Deuba of Dadeldhura; 33-year-old Prabhananda Thakunna of Siwati, Naugad Rural Municipality-4, Darchula; 22-year-old Deepika Bhandari of Dhangadhi Sub-metropolitan City-18, Kailali; 36-year-old Prakash Rokaya of Ghodaghodi Municipality-9; 23-year-old Kishwar Bohora of Thalara Rural Municipality-5, Bajhang; and 40-year-old Parbati Bohora of Ganyapadhura Rural Municipality-3, Dadeldhura.
Most of the injured have sustained injuries to their heads, hands, legs, chests, waists, and other parts of the body. All the injured were referred to Medical College, Bhairahawa for further treatment after receiving initial care at the District Hospital, Taulihawa.
Of the 46 people on board the bus, including the driver, 24 passengers were sent to their destination in another vehicle.
