Former Chief Minister Rajendra Singh Rawal seeks PSO citing security threat
Dhangadhi: CPN-UML Sudurpaschim Province Parliamentary Party leader and former Chief Minister of the province Rajendra Singh Rawal has demanded security personnel from Dhangadhi, Kailali. Rawal has submitted an application to the District Administration Office, Kanchanpur, requesting a Personal Security Officer (PSO).
According to the district administration, Rawal submitted the application on Ashar 1, stating that he is facing a security threat. The administration has said it is currently studying whether he is indeed facing a security threat based on the claims mentioned in the application.
Kanchanpur Chief District Officer Madan Koirala said that a security analysis committee formed under the leadership of the Assistant Chief District Officer is assessing Rawal’s security situation. He added that necessary decisions will be taken only after the findings of the study and analysis.
As a former Chief Minister, Rawal had previously been provided two security personnel as per the standard provision. However, those security personnel were withdrawn after the designated period expired. After that, he has again demanded security personnel. It is also stated that Rawal directly submitted the application to the administration office, although the option of requesting a PSO through the provincial government was available.
