Bedkot schools closed for four days, Bhimdatta announces 12-day holiday amid extreme heat
Dodhara Chandani (Kanchanpur): Bedkot Municipality in Kanchanpur has decided to close schools for four days due to extreme heat.
According to Chief Administrative Officer Haridatta Bhatta, the municipality has declared a holiday for all schools within the city for four days from Tuesday to Friday, citing adverse weather conditions.
Similarly, Bhimdatta Municipality has also decided to grant a 12-day holiday to community and institutional schools due to the extreme heat. Chief Administrative Officer Mahesh Bahadur Bam stated that the decision was made by combining summer and annual holidays, with schools to remain closed from Asad 20 to Asad 19.
The temperature in Kanchanpur has increased significantly over the past week. The Meteorological Forecasting Division has urged people to remain alert, as there is a possibility of a heat wave in the Terai districts over the next three days.
