DIG Sanuram Bhattarai takes charge as Sudurpaschim province police chief

Dhangadhi: Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Sanuram Bhattarai has assumed charge as the Chief of the Sudurpaschim Province Police.

Bhattarai, who was transferred to the Sudurpaschim Province Police Office under the decision dated 29 Jestha 2083 by the Personnel Administration Branch of the Human Resource Development Department at Nepal Police Headquarters, formally took charge on Wednesday.

He was welcomed during the assumption of office by senior police officers from the Province Police Office, representatives from the Nepal Police Province Office in Mahendranagar, chiefs of various police offices in Kailali and Kanchanpur, as well as other police personnel.

Following the handover, an introductory program was held where DIG Bhattarai reviewed the province’s peace and security situation, crime control measures, and police manpower management.

He instructed subordinate personnel to strengthen crime investigation and control, ensure citizen- and victim-friendly policing services, prioritize good governance and the protection of human rights, and improve overall police conduct and behavior.

He also directed the force to be mobilized in an efficient and effective manner, emphasizing a zero-tolerance approach toward illegal activities such as drug trafficking, smuggling, and gambling.
