Baitadi man found dead after going out to look for Buffalo

Baitadi: The body of 68-year-old Jay Singh Mahara of Patan Municipality-8 in Baitadi has been found.

Mahara, who left his home four days ago while looking for a buffalo, was found dead on Sunday. After Mahara went missing, the police and locals jointly launched a search operation.

During the search, his body was found near a cliff near the Thadkuda road in Patan Municipality-2, according to the Area Police Office, Patan.

According to the police, Mahara had gone with a relative from the village to buy a buffalo. After the buffalo purchase process was completed, he left saying, "I am going home." After he did not return home, the family started a search.

After he did not come into contact for three consecutive days, a search operation was launched with the active participation of locals, relatives and the police.

During the search on Sunday, his body was found near a cliff near Thadkuda.

The Area Police Office, Patan, has stated that the actual cause of the incident is yet to be revealed and further investigation is underway.
