Mahavir Pun for Science and Technology portfolio
Kathmandu: Prime Minister Balen Shah has recommended to President Ram Chandra Poudel the reappointment of House of Representatives member Sudhan Gurung as Home Minister. Gurung is scheduled to take the oath of office and secrecy from President Poudel at 3 pm today.
Gurung was previously appointed Home Minister on Chaitra 13 but later resigned following a dispute regarding his property details.
To address the issue, the government had formed a committee under the chairmanship of former Justice Achyut Prasad Bhandari to study and investigate Gurung’s tenure and related public concerns. The committee submitted its report to Prime Minister Shah on Friday.
A Cabinet meeting held today accepted the committee’s report, after which Prime Minister Shah recommended Gurung for reappointment as Home Minister.
Similarly, Prime Minister Shah has also recommended the appointment of House of Representatives member Mahavir Pun as Minister for Science, Technology and Innovation. Pun is also scheduled to take the oath of office and secrecy from President Poudel today.
