‘One Ward, One Model School’ program implemented in Patan Municipality, Baitadi

Baitadi: Patan Municipality of Baitadi has implemented the ‘One Ward, One Model School’ program with a focus on improving educational quality.

Education Branch Chief Lalit Kumar Pandey informed that the municipality has allocated a budget of Rs 2 million for the program.

As the five-year plan preparation process for improving educational quality progresses, the criteria that model schools must follow have been determined, informed Harish Bista, Coordinator of the Ready Social Development Committee.

According to the criteria, ensuring educational materials, teaching and learning, and the use of ‘Sikai Chautari’ have been made mandatory from the nursery class. The criteria also state that schools must conduct self-evaluation and review of the previous academic session and make the results public.

Similarly, provisions include e-attendance management of teacher attendance, performance contract agreements between the chairperson, principal, and teacher, and self-evaluation according to the criteria of the Educational Quality Testing Center.
